Scrap Gold is the term used in the process of recycling broken jewellery, coins and other items that are old, unfashionable or unwanted. Recycling gold has become a large industry, driven by the surge in the price of gold and the current global economic climate. Selling gold jewellery has enabled people to liquidate their assets into cash, a more usable currency in modern life.
We're a family run business, originating in the world famous Birmingham Jewellery Quarter. Our company and reputation mean everything to us. The company has enjoyed a long history in the gold jewellery manufacturing industry and we endeavour to make customer satisfaction our number one priority.
The price of scrap gold changes daily and reflects the live spot gold price in your country. As we're based in the UK our scrap gold prices are based on the daily London LBMA price. Scrap Gold Prices vary between dealers and you are advised to shop around for the best scrap gold price - As always, scrap gold prices offered online will often far outweigh high street prices.
It's important to note that the price offered for your jewellery will be lower than the current gold market price as there is a significant process involved in smelting and recycling your gold items back into raw gold material.
You can calculate the value of your gold using our Scrap Gold Calculator.
Anything gold, broken jewellery, gold and silver coins, old watches, gold teeth, gold fillings and precious metal dental scrap will all be suitable and of value. Hallmarked gold, non-hallmarked gold, silver, platinum and palladium in small or large quantities are also required. Some items however are not suitable, for example costume jewellery, or gold plated or silver plated items will have little or no value.
Don't forget that 24 carat pure gold will fetch a far higher price but we're interested in all gold, from 9ct to 24ct.
Gold mining has a huge environmental impact, the process of excavating and extracting the gold ore - the raw material from which gold is derived, is very environmentally intensive, involving damaging chemicals such as Cyanide and sulphuric acid.
Gold has long been regarded as a precious metal and has been intensively sought for more than two thousand years. Gold is used in everything from jewellery and electronics to food!
We can all help to minimise the impact of mining operations on the environment by recycling our precious metals. It is estimated that 30% of demand for new gold products is currently sourced from recycling.
Our company grew in the world famous Birmingham Jewellery Quarter. Located in the heart of the city, the Jewellery Quarter has a long tradition as being the centre of the UK jewellery business with a history dating back over 300 years. While the jewellery manufacturing business has declined over the past century, the area is still regarded as an important jewellery centre and hosts a vast number of jewellery retail, design, tooling and manufacturing companies.
In 2017 we relocated to a larger, more secure site in nearby Wolverhampton where we can offer secure parking facilities for customers wishing to visit us in person.
We are a subsidiary of Group International Ltd, members of The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ), a national trade association representing companies throughout the jewellery industry. Customers are welcome to contact the NAJ should they have any questions regarding our services.
Feel free to call us on 01902 828 400 if you have any questions about our service or the suitability of your items for recycling. Our Customer Service Team is here to help.
